BuildersTake Beta Agreement

This is the agreement you accept when you join the BuildersTake beta. It is written in plain words on purpose. By checking the box on the signup screen and creating an account, you agree to everything below.

1. What this is

BuildersTake is a private beta. That means the software is still being built and improved, and you are one of a small group getting early access. In exchange for that early access, you agree to the terms here. BuildersTake, and everything that makes it work, is owned by the company that makes it.

2. Keep it private

The software, the way it looks, the way it works, and the ideas behind it are confidential while it is in beta. You agree not to share your access with anyone outside your own company, and not to publish screenshots, recordings, or walkthroughs of it in public. You can talk about your own experience with it; you cannot hand the product itself to someone else.

3. You do not get to own it or copy it

Using BuildersTake does not give you any ownership of it. You agree that you will not:

  • Copy, reproduce, or resell the software or any part of it.
  • Reverse engineer it, decompile it, or take it apart to see how it is built.
  • Scrape, download in bulk, or harvest its pages, code, or design.
  • Use it, or anything you learn from it, to build or help build a competing product.
  • Feed the software, its screens, or its code into another tool or an AI in order to copy or recreate it.

The name, the logo, the layout, the code, and the ideas stay the property of BuildersTake.

4. Your numbers stay yours

The build costs, budgets, photos, and everything else you enter belong to you. You can export all of it at any time, including after you stop using the beta. Nobody at BuildersTake looks at your job numbers, and there is no screen in the product that would show them to us. That protection runs both ways: your work is yours, and the product is ours.

5. It is a beta, so use it with that in mind

The software is provided as is during the beta. It may change, it may have bugs, and features may come and go while it is being built. It is not a substitute for your own records or your own judgment on a build. To the extent the law allows, BuildersTake is not responsible for losses that come from using a beta product, so keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.

6. Feedback

If you send us ideas, requests, or bug reports, we can use them to improve BuildersTake without owing you anything for them. Your feedback helps make the product better for every builder on it.

7. Ending your access

You can stop using the beta at any time, and BuildersTake can end or change the beta at any time. The parts of this agreement about keeping the product private, and about not copying or competing with it, continue even after your access ends.

8. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee.

By checking the box on the signup screen and creating a BuildersTake account, you confirm that you have read this agreement and agree to it.
